For one of my second-term classes, EME 6609, we learned about methods of avoiding "death by PowerPoint," that is, how to create Powerpoints that are dynamic and engaging. This means reducing text and increasing animations and visual elements. As part of my semester projects for EME 6609 and EME 6458, I created PowerPoint lessons on APA format and active reading, respectively. Although both PowerPoints contain more text due to their subjects, I included many animated visuals to help draw the reader's attention to important aspects of the lessons. I was very happy with the results and know I'll use this knowledge when creating PowerPoints for any future projects.
